Shalauri Wine Cellars sources their Rkatsiteli grapes from the Gremi zone of Kakheti region. This artisanal wine is produced by the traditional Qvevri Method -- an 8,000 year old uniquely Georgian that utilizes a huge clay jar, Qvevri, buried underneath the ground to allow wine fermentation and aging in an even, naturally cool condition. This wine sees extended skin contact, 6 months, in the case of the Rkatsiteli, and low interference in the vilification process.
